LOUISIANA La. Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns golf team opened competition as hosts of the 19th annual Louisiana Classics tournament from the 7,083 yard, par 72 Oakbourne Country Club. The Ragin' Cajuns (303-292, +19) shot a second round of four-over par to finish the day in 10th place overall with a total score of 595.

Two-time defending tournament champion SMU (290-284, -2) leads the pack by five strokes with three individuals in the top four on the leaderboard. Texas Tech stands in second place, followed closely by Louisiana State and Kansas.

Andrew Price (72-68, -4) of Kansas leads the individual competition by two strokes with a four-under par total following a second round score of 68. Scott Abbott of SMU stands just two strokes back, followed by nine golfers within four strokes of lead.

Louisiana senior Tobias Winberg (76-68, E) leads the team with a two-round total of even par in his quest for a fourth straight tournament finish in the top 15 and to become the first Ragin' Cajun golfer to win the Louisiana Classics. Winberg tied for the day's lowest round with a second round of four-under 68 to vault into a tie for 5th overall heading into the final 18 holes.

Ragin' Cajun individual competitors Brett Ashmore (73-73, +2) and Steven Pena (73-74, +3) stand within one stroke of each other tied for the 15th and 20th spots in the standings. Junior Craig Trahan (74-75, +5) rounds out the top 40 for UL Lafayette with a two round total of five-over par to finish the day tied for 35th overall

The final round of the 19th annual Louisiana Classics will resume Tuesday morning with the first tee time beginning at 7 a.m. at Oakbourne Country Club.
