I read on JPs Twitter that Shankle was off the team! Any insight? Kicked off? Left voluntarily? Anything?

Left to focus on academics, scheduled to graduate in May.
He left because he finishes school in may. I've heard he is a great guy, but I really don't see him as our "star" back. He started last years first game, but Kevis took over that role quick, now with spikes and walker and possibly 2 HUGE RECRUITS, I didnt see him as a major role on the field, but a major role in teaching and leadership yes!

Shankle doesn't consider it quitting. He graduates in May and decided it's time to move onto another chapter in his life. Surely he saw the situation he'd face in the fall. Wish him all the best. He is a nice guy and did everything he was asked. Just couldn't ever stay healthy.
I agree, I don't see him as a quitter as well. School should be a major priority for athletes and it's great that he is graduating in may. I think most athletes take more than the typical 4-5 years to finish anyways...Sometimes never even finish, sadly to say.

It's my opinion. You might agree. You might not. It might hurt your feelings or offend your sensibilities. Too bad. You don't have to like me. I don't have to like you. We don't need to be drinking buddies. That's the greatness of America. At least it used to be.
Had a couple of classes with him his first 2 years here. Recall him always getting the lesson plan that he would miss on Friday classes when team traveled, making sure he stayed on top of academics. Nice guy. Goodluck to him.

Congrats. He accomplished what we would hope for all our students and especially our student athletes. A diploma.
How does a Streeter, Walker and Lightfoot thrive without a Shankle?
University of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns the #1 Sports Choice in Acadiana.
Well, Streeter won't be around. Walker will have a more difficult time battling injuries than he already does (sans one Sh-ankle), and Lightfoot isn't here yet to know. Are we now doomed? This could be a major crisis!
Seriously though, good luck to Julian. I hope you are successful throughout your life, and thanks for the blood, sweat, and tears you've given to the program.
