    UL Football New Fan (long)

Let me start off by saying that I am an alumni of the University of North Alabama. I was a student when coach HUD was there and you guys should be excited about him being there. This guy has a ton of energy and has a knack for finding good players that noone else may know about. I will preface this by telling you that I am a huge fan of the Alabama crimson tide, but lately have found myself following the ragin cajuns as well. I am huge follower of recruiting, rosters and scholarship numbers. Now I have been researching the previous recruiting classes of the cajuns and have a good idea about current players on scholarship, but there a couple that I still need some help with. My question is are Cardian Hagans and Cooper Gerami on scholarship?

I follow recruiting in the state of Alabama closely and Alonzo Harris is a great prospect. He is from Gadsden City which puts out 5 or 6 Div1 athletes a year. Alabama and Auburn are recruiting at such a high level that kids like Alonzo slip through the cracks sometimes, and HUD is smart enough to snatch them up.

Thanks for the help guys and I am looking forward to a great first season under coach HUD.

Ok, Thanks. One more question, I noticed that Leonardo Bates played quite a bit of OL last year, but didn't find him in any of the previous recruiting classes. Is he a walk-on as well?

Welcome aboard. I can appreciate what you do. Never got into the recruiting deal for football but I'm a huge stats guy in baseball.

The bama deal brings up a funny story..... I have a cousin who lives in Georgia, but with lots of family here in Louisiana. Went to school at Bama but loves LSU because of the Louisiana ties. Her car has LSU & Bama stickers and she might be moving to Lafayette. I told her that was like the trifecta for trouble in these parts. I told her something has to give if she intends on moving here.

Leonardo Bates is an enormous individual who is a former walk on. I'm not sure if they've issued him a scholarship or not but he came in as a walk on. Hagans and Gerami are likely going to be starters for us this year. I don't know if either is on scholarship but I assume but will be as they both spent last year with us and Gerami started for much of the year and has some promise. Hagans should be a force in the middle and was a 3 star recruit out of high school when signing with LSU.
