If UL had not been held out of the "I" Bowl in 2009, the attendance drop this year would be 50%

Missy's full of it. Last year was not a "dream matchup". They had one dream participant that made the difference. They could have had two but declined. I can guarantee you prior to last year's game, Tech fans were not itching to play NIU in the Indy Bowl. And, another guarantee... Tech fans will not be as excited to play anyone in the Indy or anywhere else... under Dykes... as they were their messiah Dooley. Dooley could have pee'd in the Ruston water supply and every Tech fan would have lapped it up... if Missy didn't get to it first.

Bustle was given an extension as if he had gone to a bowl game.

But you are right, bowl games (if handled right) can really propel a program forward.
