    Default Attendance in Monroe

Attendance for today's game in Monroe will be bad. School is out for Thanksgiving, it will be cold as you know what, LSU plays Arkansas on TV today, and nobody gives a rats rear end about anything concerning ULM. I predict a crowd of no more than 6000 people will actually at the game. ULM will announce a much larger crowd, but the place will be empty.

9,215. Predictions aside, that is still pretty rediculous for a team that is playing a rival for the chance to go to a bowl game.

That is about half of what our AVERAGE has been over the past 3-4 years.

All schools in Louisiana take a hit if their game is on at the same time as LSU but most ULM fans are mostly LSU fans.

They took a far bigger LSU withdrawal hit today than UL ever would.

Jay Walker reported that ULM must have been counting feet when they announced a crowd of 9215. There weren't 4500 people in the stadium, and that's counting the bands, cheerleaders, and the teams themselves. ULM does not have a FBS program. Both West Monroe and Neville High Schools outdraw them. They have absolutely no financial support and you simply can't pay the bills with attendance figures like they have. Once next year's budget cuts hit, ULM will be forced to look at dropping down to the FCS level. That's a good thing because they simply don't belong in the same conference as us.

Low expectations always explain low attendance. If you don't think you will feel better leaving that stadium than you did when you walked in, only a small core of diehards will attend.

I read comments on the ULM board by fans that had a bad feeling going into the game.

We're having a coaching change because our fans have developed the same feeling. Not changing now, unfortunately, sends a signal to the public that the university is satisfied with mediocrity.
