Tech's Vietnam?!?! What in the absolute frack dude? Talk about overly dramatic....you Cajuns want a "rivalry" & things that come with with one BUT you can't seem to a little friendly banter by our AD. Good gawd this is hilarious.

I'm all for friendly bar banter, BlueDawg. Problem is this discussion is taking place across the G5 and requires real solutions to keep things as profitable as possible. Your AD brought nothing of value to the discussion except Tech rhetoric while calling out "Lafayette". There is a place and time for that, like during game week leading up to a big game or something. It just came off very amateur and unprepared.

Very soon La Tech - Ruston will capitulate wth less arrogance. They likened to most other programs will take a decision based on survival. Techs budget is one of the lowest in their conf. Cusa and the Sunbelt will develop a new model as cohorts to survival. "The money ain't there no mo!" Arrogance and denial as one fan stated will not sustain a program. It's time for The Sunbelt and Cusa to become partners and survive this debacle. It's is now called survival!!

OH NOZ!!!! You can call us whatever you want, Nationally we don't have a name or.....perception problem. While there's much wailing & nashing of teeth here over a comment, there are others members who are applauding what he said.

It's going to come down who blinks first. If Benson was still here, there would be a plan of action by now, can't cut into his golf time. The new commissioner...well, he might be slightly better than CUSA's simply because he hadn't be in charge long enough.

It comes down to the SBC gets the cahoonas to boot the two non football and go from there. ULM will go back to the SLC on their own based on economics. The A5 is about to get smart and pay the lower tier of each other's conferences as OOC games, therefore keeping the big money amongst themselves.

Survival will cure the egos. UTSA, UNT, UTEP, NMSU and Texas State goes west and the rest work it out. Rice could go either way, east or west.

Fact of the matter Tech is mo Broke than U L. U L has 7500 more students and a much larger population venue. Laf has a 30 mile radius population of 850 k. Ruston maybe 30 k. Tech has done an excellent job on promoting football and ok in basketball whereas the other sports were limp. It's a new day and money drives the bus. The Cajuns r finally doing it right. Tech was treading water wth finance And both will soon be in a conf by default due to financial demands. Times are changing forever. Yo boy McCleland is aware and did his best to protect the past. It's a new day and there is no room for Misoneism that defines his statements. It's an exact description. He will come around sooner than later I will say much sooner when vendors need payments. There will b a coalition as stated by the Cusa comm who said it's a sensible approach to combine or create a cohort between the Belt and Cusa. If finances aren't adjusted and intelligently structured the Belt and Cusa will b watching football a home very soon.

I wasn't there of course, but I read there was violin music on the Titanic even as some are drowning.

Hey ____ breath, cool it it with the "you cajuns" crap. I don't know why you've gotten away with that for so long, but that's over right now.

You rednecks need to calm down. Your idiot AD just reminded the G5 how delusional Rustonia really is, and yet again embarrassed your dump institution. And most of you necks are too stu-stu-stu-stuuupid to even realize that.

Yeah, quagmire. I love it. Rivalry? You would actually have to double in size, quadruple your endowment, double your athletic budget, and get your academics to catch up to your attitude... then you might find a rivalry here. Until then, enjoy the peaches.

Conference USA men's & women's hoop tourneys will be reduced from 12 to 8 teams & league is also reducing regular season games or postseason format in other C-USA Olympic sports, sources told @Stadium

Good thing they are on another level than us

    A little "banter" LOL

Meanwhile, the rest of the G5 is cutting costs and trying to find ways to save athletic programs through being creative and innovative.

Do they not teach economics up in Rustonia?

Louisiana had trouble keeping Bulldogs alive too. That is part of why they got out of the Bulldog mascot business.

UL never abandoned their beloved four legged friends though.

The Bull Gators of Central Park don't need nearly the upkeep.
