it said the number one rpi team in basketball could be declared national champs, why would that just apply to men's basketball. doesnt softball also have a number one rpi team? namely UL?

It's the legislators of the Florida State Senate doing this. Not the NCAA. It's nothing but dumb political pandering.

it makes more sense to use this in softball than in basketball. since basketball no longer uses rpi, but softball still does. seems a double standard the p5 can do this but we cant? the ncaa doesnt declare a national champ usually anyhow. ap, usatoday, in old days upi, etc etc

Huh?? The P5s are doing nothing. These are politicians passing meaningless stuff, like Stephen Ortego authoring that bill in the LA Legislature declaring Scott as the Boudin Capitol of the World. It means nothing.

Nobody can stop us from such a declaration. We might be ridiculed much like UCF was in a less visible sport.

Been joking with my friends that I will make a UL softball national champs shirt for myself just to walk around town.
