While this may sound silly it is really important to incorporate a nice club area overlooking the field when rebuilding the stadium. Find a way to make it first class so that the entire university wants to use it for social gatherings. Academic departments will want to give awards there. Make it something that really rewards the donors. Do this right and it becomes a tool for the academic recruiters as well.

It's not silly at all, I'm pretty sure everyone understands how important that is outside of 1 person

......A small sample of what it can be is the baseball club room looking out at the field....it is also nice the other direction excluding the roof of the Cox building.......when the Marcelle Bievenue 'U Love it" Cajun cooking cook school gets going, some great events will happen! A nice funding deal for the restaurants of Acadiana/Louisiana to sponsor!

Still waiting.....they want people to keep investing and to turn up to games. I support our boys but playing in this conference with this level of competition, no one wants to see it. So get with the stadium upgrades. How many years have we waited for this to be done. Bandaid after bandaid after bandaid and finally we get a south endzone with more bathrooms. Yay. It was needed but it's a tease. Something to show us they are invested in the program but still way behind. We're behind most of the country. Forget the "Funbelt." We already have the best facilities besides our stadium. We're the biggest but not the best. If we want to compete nationally, we need a stadium that mirrors the rest of our facilities. I'm beating a dead horse here, I get it. And I know the athletic department and RCAF know it, but for the love of God. UAB got shut down, brought back to life, approved a new stadium and is currently building it. What on God's earth is taking so long for us to get our stuff together with this?! I know we did the baseball stadium, softball stadium, track stadium and the athletic complex. I know the football stadium is next but this should have been figured out by now and either done or under construction. Stop dragging your feet...make some decisions and get it going. Watch how packed the stadium will be. Watch how fast we attract bigger OOC games which we DESPERATELY NEED in order to ramp up ticket sales, interest, butts in the seats....revenue. If we can't get out of this god awful conference, then the least we can do is the stadium in order to attract more fans and better OOC games AT HOME. I get we have to pay people to come but you gotta pay to play. The team is killing it and will continue to do well under Napier, in my opinion. But we won't have him for long. And it's beyond time to give these players and the fans what they've waited and invested in for so long for. Time to ramp up more interest in the program and communicate with the public on what's going on but also to stamp it, approve it and GET IT DONE. Old man rant over....just tired of seeing other places do this and know we've been promising this for more than 10 years now. It's ridiculous. Figure it out. BTW, I don't blame Maggard. He's new and I believe he has this as his top priority. Just do it already.

I agree with everything you have stated. Just one small problem, apparently Dr. Savoie and Dr. Maggard haven't yet hit the lottery or found that 50-60 million dollars under a pillow that it will take to do the renovation!!! I realize the full amount may not be needed up front, but a funding mechanism must be identified prior to starting. I'm trying to do my part by contributing what I can to the RCAF, but unfortunately what I can afford to contribute will probably only pay for a few toilet seats in the men's room!!!

Seeing all the money found since he has arrived, surely Dr. Maggard does have a money tree.

I assure you they are still working hard on it.

With the baseball, softball, and T&F stadiums all we needed to do was tear down the old structure and put up the new structure. With Cajun Field, the deeper they dig, the more issues they are finding with the stadium. They will likely have to spend many millions of dollars on foundation, drainage, etc. before they even spend a dime on something you and I will see.

We've got one shot at this. I'd be willing to wait and don't right. LSU and many others are regretting their decisions to add seating to their football venues. Make this the best 35K seat stadium in the USA. The biggest need is to make it multi functional. We should be hosting high school games, concerts, international soccer exhibitions and whatever else people are willing to pay to see. Cajun Field needs to be a cash cow similar to the versatility of the Cajundome.

Only seats they would add would be to even out the NEZ and you would lose a bunch of seat in the upper deck so 35k would be appropriate

But if this gets done before my son gets to college i will be shocked

I don't care if it takes 20 years. It needs to be done in phases. First phase has to be tearing down the entire upper deck and replacing that with at least a few suites and press boxes.

We don't need to do anything else right now, and if that First phase becomes the only phase, so be it, but we need to move on that as soon as the Championship game is over.

I think they have found that there are large voids below the concrete in the lower section due to poor maintenance of the joints in the concrete. It may be that they will have to replace that section of the stadium before anything else. I have noticed that the perimeter retaining wall has a significant tilt to the field in several locations. That is telling me that the lower bowl is sliding to the field. Saturday night I noticed that the concrete slab in the lower concourse is very uneven. More indication of foundation issues with the lower bowl. The upper deck is on a deep foundation so the foundation issues with the lower bowl should not affect the upper deck. If I was responsible for the structure I would be keeping a keen eye on the lower bowl and slab of the lower bowl. There is a reason why they have placed steel plates over the displaced joints of the concourse slab. Severe trip hazard there. I think they have placed the steel plates on the joints instead of replacing the slabs for fear of what they might find below it. Next game go to the lower bowl, find the joint at the fifty yard line and look down. Don't drop anything down that joint, you won't get it back.

If they have a structural engineer looking at it I am sure he feels that it is safe or it would have been condemned. I have done that a couple of times, owner wasn't happy but too bad.

Announce a plan, show the renderings, quote the price tag, ask for donations and keep a visible display of where we stand regularly. If people see progress they are more likely to donate more frequently even if small amounts.

Why can't we ask to donate at concessions like every other store does for MDA, children's hospital, or whatever other item they are looking to collect for? Seems like I can't buy anything these days without asking for a donation. Quarters ultimately lead up to dollars.

I don't think a $1 Tree or a sCENT Bush will get us there.

Build a new stadium in Cajun field parking lot, tear down current field when done and build a parking tower. It might end up being around the same price and can be done all
    At once with little inconvenience.

.......Get the tax back from the race track that funded the stadium originally!
