Take aways from the game Smith and Bradley are studly

Mitchell looks better this year bigger stronger and more aggressive runner

    Starting OL look good

    DL needs work

Regardless of the coach speak the QB battle is wide open

Hard to judge DB's and LBs with such a simplified game plan

Just a few of my observations:

Jai'ave still can't throw off his right leg at this time. He has a strong arm and can make all the throws. If he is ready to go in the fall, I see he and Levi both playing with a chance to be the guy.

Levi, he still makes the easy throws look difficult at times. He's more vocal and looks more confident, but he can look good one play and equally bad on another. The fall will be a dog fight between him and Jai'ave.

Joe Dillon is not near the player he was when he went down. Now, they did play him out in space some, and he doesn't have all of his speed back at this time. Hopefully we will see the old Joe Dillon by kick off against Miss. State.

It was hard to gauge the DL because of the lack of depth. Hayes, Booker, Porter and Mapieu all had moments. Ochoa, Hill and Higgins were all out due to injury.

Chauncey Manac, Eli Mitchell and Brian Smith are grown men!

The newcomer Smith will be a force . The QB slot is still open If Levi opens up the season as starter I will be surprised .
Our running back position is scary will all the guys we have with others .
If our defense can hold their own we will have a good season . That first game with State will tell us a lot . They have lost a lot of starters and in a fist game anything can happen

McDowell is legit...I couldn't get over how big the guy looked. Smooth passes.

I am able to listen (and watch most) every softball UL game via Radio Pup in Alaska. Even from Prudhoe Bay and Kenai I was listening last weekend. No excuse.

Napier wanted no parts of the running back fantasy draft question on the broadcast

From the articles on the game, it sounds encouraging, looking forward to August.
