Also, 19-win seasons against Southland and Sun Belt competition is not a failure but AVERAGE. Losing a freshman and one defender should not warrant finishing in 5th place with a postseason 1 and done in this conference.

Cost matches quality. Ticket prices and RCAF requests have increased over the past few years meaning people will expect a greater return. This isn't social club. This is business.

Time to start earning that paycheck.
Someone should also remind him that some of the "millenials" leading the charge to fire Marlin were fans before he ever heard of Lafayette, Louisiana.

Nine years in 8 post season wins in SBC tournament. Really can't spin that into a good thing.

Nine years in losing record vs top 150 can't spin that into a good thing.

So what does he or she have to say about those who aren't millennials? I'm not in this generation but I'm at a point that I have decided to not further my financial support of the program. This is not to say that I won't carry a high level of interest for the program, watch on TV and attend certain home games from time to time but my donation level has ceased.

That's the point. There's a ton of NON-Millenials who feel the same way. LOL!!!

Let's not gloss it over, Express; that's 9 years in and a losing record against the top 200 RPI.

What's funny is that I'm not even one of them.

Not once have I called for Marlin's job. But that doesn't mean I can't hold him accountable as a fan and donor. Some people around here need to know that it's ok to do that.

Exactly what does holding somebody accountable mean if the job isn't at stake?

All I know is he shouldn't have had an extension worth a net five years.

Well, by creating a list of what we want out of our program with definable criteria that need to be met, we can hold him accountable if he doesn't reach these goals by NOT giving him extensions, raises and more job security if he fails to meet them as well as communicating our expectations so that all know if he is meeting them or not. Since you aren't going to fire a coach for one bad year or one year where you are snake bitten by injuries etc., you identify expectations over a 3-5-10 year period of where we expect to be. This can include levels of fundraising he has to meet for his program, recruiting success etc.

Asking for a coach to perform at a higher level doesn't always mean that he/she will suddenly get canned unless those performances repeat themselves consistently. What I've seen is a coaching staff that recently had a good year in 2017-2018 but put all of their eggs in that basket. If seasons like this continue, then yes. That seat will get hotter. But for now, we will have to sit here and muster the justifications of winning 19 games against lackluster competition and finishing 5th in this conference.

The fact remains that we have one NCAA tournament appearance in 9 seasons. And we are currently 8-8 in our conference tournament. Not good.

I am most disappointed by the windfall of excuses and spin. Here are the facts:

    1 NCAA appearance in 9 years (2 in 20+)
1 conference tourney appearance in 10+ years
Losing record against top 200 RPI
AWFUL home schedules for a decade
Apathy at an all time high

Can't spin that. Can't excuse that. Can't promote that.
