    Default $32,500,000

UL athletic department took in and spent over $32 million for the year ending June 30, 2018.

Meanwhile, in Ruston, it's less than $24 million.

Also, I was curious to see how our UL license plates were doing, so did a little research. This is what I found so far:

Royalties paid for past three years

    LSU: $1.7 million
    World Champion Saints: $1.3 million
University of Louisiana ... at Lafayette: $395,994
    Southern University: $202,815
    Environmental education: $187,825
    Louisiana Tech University: $146,204
    Black bear: $95,739
    I'm A Cajun: $88,594
    White-tailed deer: $29,359

$400K is not too shaby, and no other school comes close...well, minus the possum people.

    Yes.

And I am almost of the mind that you can add the $88K for the "I am A Cajun" one to our tally too, lol. Kind of surpised that the Saints isnt the highest....I see those ALL over the place, All the time.

Here's the article that I got the info from....it's from the Advocate, those scum bags:

"Specialty plates have raised $5.5 million for their sponsors over the past three years. But only four organizations split about two-thirds of that money, $3.4 million, for plates advertising LSU, the Saints, UL-Lafayette and Southern University."

I'm going to wait until we can actually beat them on the football field before yelling stuff at Ruston. They've whipped us like abused mutts the past two times.

so, they been kicking out butts in football, but we are steadily pulling away from them in operating revenues and academic status! I think that's pretty impressive. what will they have left once we actually win football games? we cant change how the past played out, but those wins have not benefited tech much, in the big picture, it didn't hurt our recruiting this past year. heck ULM is right on their tails.

We last played them 4 years ago, with a different staff.

Those games had nearly zero effect on this signing class.

that's my point. any success we have should not have to be tempered because they have owned us in football in the past.

Which would I rather, a few wins over the necksters in football a few years back or a steady increase in our athletic budget versus theirs where we're now something like 30% higher than theirs?

Give me the budget every trip of the train because it's only a matter of time before it pays off across all sports.

And remember, it wasn't that long ago that they had a substantially higher athletic budget than ours. As someone said above, keep this up and we'll lap them before we know it.
