The Louisiana soccer team surrendered two second half goals as the Ragin' Cajuns fell 2-0 on the road to Georgia Southern on Sunday afternoon at Eagle Field.

Louisiana (3-11-2, 2-6-0 SBC) outshot the Eagles (5-10-0, 3-5-0 SBC) 12-11 in the contest including seven shots on frame. Both teams took seven corners on the afternoon.

Kacie Pou and Una Einarsdottir led the Ragin' Cajuns with three shots apiece in the match, while goalkeeper Mackenzie Lee made two saves.


The Ragin' Cajuns and Eagles played a scoreless first 45 minutes of the contest as both sides notched four shots in the half.

Georgia Southern broke into the scoring column in the 60th minute on a goal by Marcela Montoya that was assisted by Halle Huff and Megan Przybysz.

The Eagles extended their advantage to 2-0 in the 88th minute when Ashton Adams knocked in a pass from Tyler Gordon.

Louisiana opens up its final week of the regular season at South Alabama with a 7 p.m. contest on Friday, Oct. 19 at The Cage. The Ragin' Cajuns close out the regular season at home against Georgia State with Senior Day on Oct. 21 at noon.
