Long time until signing day for the 19 class. Way to early to say anyone has the top class for 19.

In order to sign 25 every year it requires losing 8 players a year.

So I would say it depends on who the losses are.

ps my numbers are based on a robust red shirt program.

8 would be about an attrition rate of about a third that class. But we know some players are encouraged to transfer. How else can Alabama sign 25 every year. Some players decide they're not interested and move on, some transfer in spite of the coaches wanting him. But 8 is still a high rate.

The new transfer rule will almost certainly increase the attrition rate for everybody. It'll hit G5 programs the hardest, but any player riding the pine on a P5 team will be a high risk to transfer now too.

I didn't think the transfer rule passed.

There may have been some movement, but it is now East Carolina at #45.

SMU has 4 players committed from Louisiana - all with 3 stars

I'll definitely take all the kids from Many that are FBS prospects. Throw in the 3 Star kids from U-High and Lab and we would have a damn good class to go along with what we have now.

It definitely passed. Conferences can prevent players from transferring to other schools in their league but that is the only limitation.

Maybe I misunderstood. The rule change was only about schools being able to block transfers to certain schools. If a kid wants to transfer, they are entered into a database that all schools have access to and can then contact the athlete.

What I didn't think had passed was the immediate eligibility of the transferee. My comment was really based upon this assumption. I don't see a huge impact on transfers as long as kids still have to sit out a year.

Did I miss the immediate eligibility being approved as well?

No. They still have to sit out one year. However now you can go from Clemson to South Carolina. Almost never happened previously.

Agreed, just don't think you will see a huge spike in transfers over this.
