Just about everybody across the country loved our uniforms when we played Kentucky.

Not sure why any Cajun fan would want to see us get rid of the name Cajuns, or Ragin' Cajuns. Is there another team anywhere in the world with that name? Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. Nuff said.

The uniforms we wore at aTm last year are easily the best we've ever had. In my opinion it's not even close.

The FDL represents a lot of areas Quebec, Louisiana, French Giana etc. now if you live in the U.S. specially in the South people make the connection to Louisiana with the FDL. It's kinda like the Star and Texas.

If we are branding Louisiana the FDL there is an instant connection to Louisiana. Everyone knows that we are the Ragin Cajuns, but what they do not know is that we are Louisiana, think the FDL would do that for us.

I personally like the small FDL that is on the baseball hat, not the big one that we used during Kentucky.

When it comes to helmets I am down with curve Ragin Cajuns, Cajuns, or FDL as long as it is the traditional helmets with either red or white, with the double strips on top.

They had their struggles, too. We don't remember them that well because it wasn't personal. Took a couple years before everyone dropped Reno. Might take UL a little longer because LSU controls everything politically in this state.

People who are fans of unlv still call them UNR and Reno. Pretty sure they put Reno on the score board at home unlv games.

Yep. And we should change our name to university of acadiana. I'd rather that same concept with the state flag.

Do you think that concept is changing our name? No it does not, all it's doing is representing a region. The Acadiana Flag look would look better than a Louisiana Flag concept, and it is a representation of Cajun Heritage.

Not everything has to be Louisiana. Just picture that helmet on our current uniforms, man you talking about slick. Wish I could do a mock up.

We pull these out one game of the year! Man be freaking great

No it wouldn't change our name. But you answered your own question. It represents a region and we're trying to get away from being a regional or double directional school with the Louisiana branding. Would just be contradicting ourselves with that regional representation.

We are the Ragin Cajuns the Flag is a representation of Acadiana and Cajun Culture. We are in the heartland of Acadiana. It's like saying the Baseball team should not have the Acadiana flag on the back of the hats, because it's not Louisiana.

Not everything we do has to be Louisiana. Like saying we shouldn't raise the Acadiana Flag at football games because it's not representation of Louisiana. We shouldn't call Cajun Field The Swamp because it's not representation of Louisiana. Just South Louisiana and Acadiana is what The Swamp represents.

We might be over thinking the branding a little bit.

Don't look at digital media the univ has been putting out or the new signage around the practice field because it all has the Acadian flag on it.... It's embraing the Culture

Yep have no problem with it that size or even a sticker on the back of the helmet, but should not ever be larger that the Louisiana branding.

And that matters why? We have only worn that helmet logo 2-3 games. If it becomes more regular, more people would recognize it .

Tried to stay out of this but, here we go..

If you guys think Maggard just sat down and pulled the branding order out of a hat, you're mistaken. Some of the best marketing folks in the business were consulted on this.

Ragin Cajuns is THE most unique monicker in all of sports. It is the most closely identifiable nick name, with regards to how it represents a community of people & it's culture.

Louisiana is the bane of our identity crisis. Yes, we need to push and promote everything with Louisiana going forward, but the is not specific to our culture, nor our people, nor our heritage. There are several Louisiana branded colleges around the state. Over time, this will matter more and more, but it would be short sighted to have this as the spear point of our branding efforts.

The FDL is recognized regionally, nationally and yes, even globally. It is a trademark more than an identifier. Again, it was a no brainer to promote the FDL as a major part of our identity. The FDL can go places "Louisiana" and even "Ragin Cajuns" can't.

Its a mistake to use a generic fdl instead of the one of a kind design fdl that was part of Kentucky game helmets. Agree with the Ragin Cajun branding, a new design would be an option, but I'm no artist...
