    Position Title: Athletics: Assistant Athletic Director for Broadcast Operations

    Department: 8911|General Athletics

    Responsibilities:

    Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Athletics for External Relations, the selected candidate for Assistant Athletic Director for Broadcast Operations assists in the development, production and distribution of Athletics Broadcast Productions content, and is heavily engaged in the leveraging, repurposing, and reformatting of assets created by Video Services to numerous new media delivery channels. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: logistical planning for production of in-venue and TV shows against sensitive timelines; oversight of shooting and acquisition of games, matches, interviews, sound bites, etc. towards the production of events / shows, including supervision of select staff; produce, coordinate, and execute recordings of television shows, interviews, press conferences, etc., to include directing, set-up, lighting, sound, and camera operations; and work with external operations staff towards the creation, planning, and execution of video content for various media distribution.

    Qualifications:

    A bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred, in an appropriate area of specialization and eight (8) years of appropriate experience. Prefer hands-on experience producing fan engaging content for in-game video board production, coaches shows and traditional sports television programming for various sports; demonstrated experience with professional and broadcast-level video acquisition and production tools (i.e. cameras, switchers, CG's, media recorders, and editors); hands-on experience creating media for web and other new media delivery channels; and excellent organizational, attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills with proficiency on computer applications to execute and deliver completed projects within time-sensitive deadlines. Experience with Cinema, DSLR and Panasonic P2 cameras and equipment, EditShare Server, Avid Media Composer Non-linear Editing Systems, and/or Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and other image productions software also preferred. As a staff member of Louisiana Athletics, the selected candidate will be a person of integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and institutional rules as they apply to the Louisiana Athletics program.

    Under the direction of the of the Assist. Athletic Director for Broadcast Operations, the Director of Broadcast Operations will be responsible for all on-site responsibilities at all Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Athletics events dealing with all television related issues involving Network partners, Tournament Director, and title sponsor. The Director of Broadcast Operations will be the lead point of contact for all Broadcast Operations for Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Athletics.

    Develop strong relationships with our Ragin' Cajuns Network Partners.

    Will be the lead/manager in creating programing suitable for multimedia including writing, producing and editing all storylines and graphics for the Ragin' Cajuns Athletics Network production and all Digital programming.

    Assist in monitoring network telecasts and creating accurate and timely Executive level telecast reports.

    Work closely with Athletics Communication staff; marketing, promotions and fan engagement staff; digital/creative media staff on new technology for our network telecasts and various Media platforms and content.

    Identify Network telecast issues, concerns and accolades and assist in gathering relevant video clips for distribution to appropriate departments for Ragin' Cajuns Athletics.

    Must be willing to work home events, nights and weekends as needed.

    Special projects or other duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities:

    The Director of Engineering for Broadcast Operations will act as the lead Engineering/Maintenance Supervisor for Broadcast Operations for Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Athletics.

    The employee must be thoroughly versed regarding Broadcast TV Operations and Broadcast Engineering. Possess a wide base of TV broadcast techniques and fundamental troubleshooting/basic bench tech repairs to facility equipment. He/she must also have significant experience in the maintenance of broadcast automation systems/Routing Systems/ ENG equipment and Satellite/Fiber connectivity. Candidate must prove to be an authority in the research and planning of facility upgrades, installation, and integration and current broadcast trends, as well as equipment lifecycle schedules. The duties include being a technical liaison with a high ranking government official as well as standard contracting clients and vendors. Programming, repairing and operating all the DMO's video and audio systems and the in-house Cable Television System; providing installation and integration support for system enhancements; verifying and testing all program video, audio, and cueing circuits; verifying video and audio continuity on the in-house cable television system; Preparing for and monitoring all live broadcast and correcting and issues as they occur including but not limited to, reconfiguring audio and video patches testing circuits as programming requirements change.

    Director of Engineering for Broadcast Operations is responsible for planning, designing and implementing technical facilities improvements and equipment replacement including capital budget recommendations regarding broadcast service needs, quote and bid preparation and analysis, and representing projects with vendors and university departments. Will be responsible for collaborating with campus IT in the development and engineering of all TV production elements for Ragin' Cajun Athletics.

    Forgot one qualification...must be creative. Pay won't be an issue as tv stations outside of top 40 markets pay folks with these qualifications very little. Spend a few $ and post positions on broadcast trade sites.
