Default Observation from watching Super Regionals

Just an observation has everyone else who has been watching Super Regionals notice these ball players batting averages?

From top of line up to the bottom of line up.

Get rid of JT and our averages would climb 100 points!

That is a pretty bold statement, however if it is half correct, it would almost be criminal to keep him.

Someone in the hierarchy of the coaching staff needs to be bumped down before a new hitting coach will take the position....if one even becomes available.

CSF hit 13 homers all year going into tonight, only three at home. Dude from CSF homers in the tenth to give Fullerton the lead. But the defense collapses in the bottom of the tenth and Washington wins 5-4.

BTW...Even though it worked in our favor in 2000, I don't like the host team being the visitor in game three of the SR.

I've watched a lot of baseball since Friday. Two things stuck out to me 1- how much contact these teams are making...fair, foul, hard outs...whatever the case. 2- the amount of freshman that can rake.

Are we locked into the existing situation due to baseball budget for hitting/assistant coach compensation? Maybe there's a large gap between current budget and what it's going to take to make a meaningful change giving folks pause. There's been such a continuing escalation in coaching salaries. But still, sometimes hires don't work out as previously thought no matter what industry. I'm wondering if the athletic department is willing to do what it takes in this part of the baseball budget or just not a priority until new budget year?

Mississippi State had the distractions of a renovation to their stadium during the off-season and the firing of their head coach very early in the season. But no excuses for them...back to Omaha they go.

These super regional games were fantastic. Looking forward to UT and Tenn Tech today.

The "host" team is hosting because they are the higher seeded team and have "usually" earned the right to host. Thus, the perceived advantage of being the home team in game #3 of the Supers.

They have all been great and it will be hard to top Miss Stat and Vandy, but this to me is the most exciting.
