Last nights game was an all timer for me.

But I just love the contrast of teams. Big Arms vs Big Bats.. good stuff in June. There's nothing better than good college baseball.

BTW...Even though it worked in our favor in 2000, I don't like the host team being the visitor in game three of the SR.
Game 1 the host team is the home team, Game 2 the host team is the visitors, Game 3 the home and away team is decided by a coin flip.

Not always the case. Mississippi State was the home team in game 1 in Nashville.

From top of line up to the bottom of line up.
So, most of the Super teams don't have corner infielders hitting under .180? That's weird.

This is because neither Mississippi State nor Vanderbilt were the higher seed. In this situation when the super regional host must be determined the Monday after the regional round (both teams are seeded equally), the team that is ultimately chosen to host is not necessarily the home team in the first game. In this situation, you have two coin flips instead of one. One coin flip for the first game ... and one coin flip for the if necessary game #3.

The same took place in Fullerton this weekend ... except Fullerton won the flip for game #1 and Washington won the flip for game #3.

In all other circumstances, the higher seed is home for game #1, the visitor is home for game #2, and a coin flip is conducted for game #3.

Except in situations when the selected host is not a higher seed. See explanation above.
