Still less stressful playing the game you love, compared to squeezing it between your college curriculum.

    Less stress = less pressure.
Less pressure = feel the game.

Of course it helps if the coach can feel the game.
These guys are competing against their peers in front of MLB scouts. Every one of them with goals of playing in the big leagues. I'd almost argue it's more stressful at Cape Cod than spring season.

Singular focus is preferable to multitasking 2 must do life events.

Trying to make a roster with no fallback vs trying to impress a scout? I guess different individuals could put undue pressure on themselves.

Deluded or not, I've known a lot of baseball players with no back up plan.

Talbot gone yet? I'm getting impatient! Seems like we shoulda heard something by now.

2 players for upcoming year that we can look for some help from... I like the sound of Templet at first.

Templet & Cantrelle played together at St Cecilia in Broussard.

Lockridge and Breaux played together at Cathedral. Cox and Hannie were Fatima boys.

Playing time is the only reason for transfers.

I don't know. I have heard that his issue is more between the ears.

He has a lengthy injury history - may not be playing baseball anywhere

If memory serves, the rumor was his HS coach thoroughly screwed up his arm. I don't know if that was the case that caused the lack of playing time with the Cajuns and necessitating his transfer, but either item would be a shame.

I heard the same stories. 200+ pitch outings or short rest. Something to that effect.

I sure hope we can keep Nick Lee for his senior season. I'd like to see Gunner and Nick pitching 1 & 2. A lot of experience right there.

So where is Dexter Jordan supposed to be drafted?

Templet will certainly have the opportunity to win the first base job, but I'm told you may see Lott playing some first base on the Cape this summer. If true, that could make for competition in the fall and that's never a bad thing.

Lochridge will again compete with Windham. We know which is the better defensive player. But O'Neal can win that battle if he's better at the plate.

I hope Breaux is the answer in the OF, but honestly, there's nothing in his collegiate career that would indicate he's going to hit at the level we need him to. I think if Dexter Jordan makes it to campus, he will be the guy. But I'm not getting my hopes up on him getting here.

Some of these summer leagues are resume builders for the next level draft. Lots to gain by success.
Steven Sensley played in Alaska in 2016 and won Player of the Year and Silver Slugger awards. He had .308 batting average, slugged .531 with 6 homers and 27 RBI in 38 games. He also stole 7 bases. He played in one of the highly regarded summer leagues and he was the best player on the field. I think that speaks volumes.
