Kausuls and Cantrelle would be locks as starters next year. I think Mckennon, Lahare, Windham(unless he hits), and Bourgois should be role players. We can't have another team full of defensive replacements in the starting lineup

I think he may get drafted, but will he be drafted in a low enough round to get any decent money.

What's the latest on Tremaine Spears? Will O'Neal Lochrige get it turned around? Will Marco Ramos gain confidence and get fired up like his dad? How good is Breaux? Can Windom bring his average above .250? Todd Lott was just starting to find a groove when the season ended. Personally, I think the only junior we lose is Harris. But hey, his Dad is a big UL guy and he may want to stay for his Senior year with Gunner & Lee. Can we get Wade Simoneaux back as a hitting coach? If we can get all of this to work in our favor and add a few new guys to the mix, we could be a pretty good dang team in 2019.

I think Ramos was a Senior. I believe Hogan is gone. You have to think that Leger having sat through all of what happened this year, if he gets the right money, he is gone. I also think if LaHare is drafted he is gone.

No shot on Simoneaux. If Harris is the only Jr we lose I'll buy your season ticket next year. Doubt Lockridge will be a factor. And Ramos is a senior. Spears should be back. Windham is the X factor if he can hit. Curious to see how he does this summer with wood. If he doesn't do well I'm not optimistic about next season.

I'd bet the farm Leger is on the bump opening day next season

You think Lahare is a role player? Kid was the best hitter on the team, is aggressive as hell, and brings some swagger to the lineup. If he comes back, he's a lock for a premium spot in the order.

I hope he is back also, but know he was gone last year if not for the injury and know he was in the dugout to evaluate what remains to come back next year.

Also, you said Lahare was a role player???? He was by far the best hitter on the team at 321/470/388. I would bet the farm if he is back he will be in the outfield and hitting at the top of the lineup at the beginning of the season.

Not questioning his aggression he played with. Not questioning his passion. He was one of the better hitters on a bad baseball team. His defense wasn't great either. I love the energy and passion he brings, but we talking about talent

Find me a team with three outfielders batting 321 or above and I'm pretty sure I will show you a team in the field of 64. We must not have watched the same LaHare on defense.

We must not have. And that's fine. I have nothing against the kid. I love his passion. For me it's no secret we need an upgrade in talent level across the board. His speed allows him to cover some ground, he doesn't throw particularly well, and at times it's an adventure watching him catch a fly ball.

LaHare was best hitter on team most of season. He also plays with lots of passion. He is more than a role player.

Does anyone know the kids that are coming in this fall??
I've heard of a couple from LSUE one being a pitcher that hits mid 90s and the other is the SS. Heard the SS is a good ball player. Never seen him play but if he's anything like his dad he will fit in and bring some attitude!

Connor Joffrion out of Parkview Baptist should be a solid addition. Really good kid. Fast as a lightning bolt. Hud was looking at him as a QB. He's an outfielder. Phillip Hawke, former Cajun baseball player, is Parkview's batting coach.

Hannie was a tremendous athlete at STM. If healthy, and hopefully he is, could be an excellent addition to the ball club.

I would throw Templet in there as well. There may be another transfer or two as well.

    The key is health.

What newcomers do we need to watch out for in the draft?

I'm pretty sure Gunner will be back. Hogan - would love to have him back but probably won't. Lee - would love to see him back as a senior.

Dexter Jordan is the big one.

T can probably elaborate on the others

Tad bit off topic, but anyone know of any definite plans for Russo Park upgrades over the offseason this year? I've heard of new locker rooms/offices/cages along the first base side... Schilling Shack Party behind the RF wall... New placement of padding along the outfield wall - Wonderif this would look like Houston - pads with adds and a yellow line across the top.
