I am too busy to investigate now, but does anyone know if we use SBC umpires when we host a regional at Lamson. I seriously doubt it.
Maybe next week we will see ACC umpires calling the loosianna state-FSU games next weekend, but I will be shocked.

The host school has nothing to do with umpire assignments. It is in the hands of the NCAA.

I read a good book and I think it said "The NCAA is the root of all evil"!

What gets me is he is an SEC umpire doing a game with a team he sees numerous times a year against little old us. Who he has actually screwed us in the past. Conflict of interest?
That Would not be an issue if he was a good umpire

Just for sake of clarification. The man who made this call is NOT the same umpire that made the fair/foul call the previous year.

Amazingly every controversial call goes against us vs P5 teams late in games tipping the victory to the various P5 teams. Been going on for decades. We've never gotten one of those calls. Interesting stat.

He warned a batter for losing her grip on a bat while swinging at a pitch. The announcers were dumbfounded with why he would do this. This guy is a total attention _____.

His explanation was that he warned her because he thought the bat hit the catcher. He then initially called the batter out the second time then changed his mind. I was waiting for the Oregon coach to go ballistic on him. I wouldn't hire Erwin to ump a t-ball game.

And another missed call on a tag at the plate. No excuse not to have replay in these situations.

He just blew another obvious call at home plate. How is this guy allowed to umpire at this level of softball? Does it have to do with some type of affirmative action strategy by NCAA? I can think of no other explanation to allow an umpire who is this horrible to umpire D1 softball games.

The bum didn't see the tag on the bum. Pretty ironic the X-Cajun was called safe when she was clearly out.
