    Default LHSAA Baseball State Champions

Congratulations to the area teams that brought home trophies this weekend Inn Sulphur! There were many great games and some huge crowds all weekend.

    D2 - Teurlings
Rebels smashed the ball against University in the title game. Hard to come back when the Rebel bomb 2 homers in their first 3 at bats of the first inning to take a quick 3-0 lead. Dominated their way to a 10-3 title same win.

    3A - Berwick
Jumped on Iota and sailed to a 7-2 win in the title game.

    D3 - Notre Dame
Played 2 classic 9 inning games to take the title. Starting pitcher goes 9 innings and gets the game winning hit for the 6-4 win in title game.

    2A - Loreauville
Bombed their way to an 11-2 lead over Kinder in semis. Kinder ended up playing their left fielder on the warning track. Kinder fought back but it was too late. 12-9 vistory for the Tigers. Fell behind 5-0 to a good Welsh team until our guys figured out their starter and the bats exploded for 7 runs in the 6th. 12-5 victory for the Tigers in the title game.

After your title the thread should have read. Is a freaking joke. End of story.

Leave it to an adult to try and take away from what happened this weekend. Your glory days are gone. Those teams that played this weekend left it all out on the field and in fact could beat anyone you put them against. The kids play by the rules set in place. Don't come out and try anything away from their accomplishments.

A lot of hard work went into those championships.

For the winners and the runner ups, as well as the also rans.

Not one of these kids voted to have 12 divisions.

Not one of these kids worked less to win a championship because adults voted to have 12 divisions.

Each kid and team competed within the rules voted in by adults.

Just another douche on this board. Oh well.

Before I say anything props to Loreauville. Took out the top seed and a team poised with players that won the state football championship. Pure destiny. That said...

Kinder was beat before setting foot on the field. Graduation Thursday night. Think any of those seniors knocked back a few? We've all been there, heck yeah they did.

This thread didn't turn out like you thought it would, huh,.....you douchebag.

As a previous poster said it is not the kids fault that some twat waffle from a N. LA public school wanted participation trophies for everyone. What's ironic about her stupidity is that her little teams haven't even sniffed a championship since she was the initial one that pushed for this split crap.

I can think of another "F" word to put in front of that buffoon name of yours.........

Graduation may have had an small impact but the second inning is what really set the tone.

Top 1st Loreauville starts with 3 straight singles to score a run then Kinder shuts the rally down.

    Top 2nd:
    Walk
    Fielders Choice
    Walk
    Single
    Triple
    Triple
    (New pitcher)

Score quickly jumped to 5-0 and the Tigers chased Kinders starter after 1.1 innings. Once the Tigers start mashing the ball, they can beat anyone.

No doubt the State Championships are watered down, not the same quality of baseball, but it was fun seeing kids competing for a dream to come true!!!

Peyton Lejeune is a 2019 commitment from Teurlings.

Connor Cooke and Chance Stone are 2018 commitments from Sulphur.

This is the proper response. I personally no longer go the the lhsaa football playoffs due to the split, but I am still happy for those players and their families that get to participate. I have spoken with several of the principals in the Catholic League and they hate the system, but everyone is trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Isn't it just so these day to just poo poo all over someone else's accomplishments?

The kids playing in these games had no bearing on whatever it is you think is wrong. All they can do is lace up their cleats and go out there and play.

CJR, is this the Tigers first state championship in any sport? I just don't recall any others in the last 50 or so years.

First state title in one of the big 3 sports. Won a boxing title in the 50's and had some individual track titles.

It happens. Was pulling for you guys (especially Broc) to pull it off. We're coming for the district next year!
