Maybe someone to finally make sure that, for example, all season ticket holders are made aware that football season tickets are up for renewal. Perhaps line up the RCAF giving people a ring asking about renewals and/or thoughts on the direction of the program.

I know the men's basketball staff believes their program could benefit with someone having social media skills promoting their program on those platforms. I imagine other staffs feel the same way.

Sounds like the same position Rob Stewart had.

Arkansas State, a peer of ours, has over 50 on their staff.

The guy knows what he is doing. I would suggest that we let him DO, and then judge him latter based upon the results of his actions.

Stands to reason the department can speed up progress on all fronts with improved technology best practices. Best wishes to Patrick Crawford in implementing portions of the Alden Report relevant to his area of responsibility.

Add to that the fact Ark. State does not have a softball program and the only sport that is consistently above ours at that school is football. Their overall athletic program has nowhere near the success ours has had in recent years. Granted, football is the one that brings the most attention so Coach Napier has a big job in front of him.

No. This is a new position. He's going to be Matt Sullivan and Jeff Schneider's boss. But rather than be sport specific, he's going to concentrate on athletics as a whole, with emphasis on digital.

There will be another hire to replace Rob Stewart.

Resigned to go into private business. He is a loan officer with a mortgage company here in Lafayette.

UL has traditionally been one of the least bloated athletic departments in D1. I am probably not the only person that rolls their eyes at all these quality control and digital media jobs, but it is just the cost of going business if you are trying to do big time college sports. Maggard has charted a new path for our athletic department, one that is going to end up costing the average fan quite a few extra bucks. Let's hope the extra expenditures coincide with improved athletic teams.

My response was edited and the post to which I responded has been deleted. Reality Check said this sounded like Dr. Maggard was creating a new position for a buddy of his. Rob's duties over External Affairs included digital marketing and Matt Sullivan's department was under Rob's authority. This new position may be a hybrid of external affairs, but it does include some of Rob's activities.
