We play 8 games in the sun belt. If we get good QB play and competent play calling, all of these games are gonna be winnable. If Napier is the coach that we all hope he is, we win at least 6 next year and are competitive in the conference losses

He does still have several and the recent decisions by Crawford and Cryer could mean they bring in another DB this summer.

They decided to go on and graduate foregoing their last year of eligibility

My first thought is that it would be a pleasant surprise to win 7, but being we are in the SunBelt, it's not that hard to do. I too think it will take a year or two to be a good competitive team against other decent teams.

Six wins and .500 in conference would help right the ship and get the program headed in the right direction.

I would think if they choose to graduate, those scholarships would become available

Weren't SunBelt teams 4-1 in bowl games last season? I get the SunBelt's reputation isn't great, but the success in football has outperformed that reputation for a few years now. We should not underestimate our competition.

The SB outperforming it's reputation, hasn't really improved it's reputation, when you get down to it. Your view of our competition is a lot different than my view, apparently.

Is the Mitchell kid from Erath gonna be back and ready to go? Really liked the way he was running the ball before he was injured

That is not true. When bustle got fired the thing he was most upset about was he and his staff thought that next year was going to be the most talented team he had ever had here.

For these 2 to forego their senior year, reading between the lines, would you say it must be a much tighter ship with no nonsense, to make them want to quit? All that time invested to leave as a Sr just don't add up.

Makes sense to me as they are graduating. As they won't play pro ball, they are moving on to the next phase of life.

Not me, when my last game was done I would have given anything for another year of football. If you love the game and you have a chance to play as much as possible.
