For a peer comparison, Arkansas State signed with Learfield in 2016 to a 10 year $16 million contract.

For those wondering why this matters, it was a part of the Alden Report and it goes beyond just radio broadcast. It's a full multimedia/marketing partnership.

"Create a competitive marketplace for expanded UL programming and set the stage for bringing in a multimedia agency to maximize revenues and resource Revamp and regain control of media distribution."

This was Alden's suggestion in his report

Such a partner would work with the school to sell advertising, corporate sponsorships, signage and digital content. Maggard was determining just what sports-related money-making assets UL has to sell sponsors and media partners.

That could be anything as small as ad space on team-schedule cards and posters to bigger-bucks possibilities such as advertising on internet, radio and television platforms.

What a bummer. KPEL was just about to get those mic problems resolved.

Really? versus an overtalker that won't shut up......Jay calls a good game. I've been living in several states throughout my career and heard many other teams broadcast across the country.....we got ourselves a pretty darn good play by play guy.

I agree with that, though he does have me checking my internet connection from time to time.

Yeah. It would be a bittersweet day to lose Jay. He calls a great game.

I guess I just do not understand what is going on. Does anyone know what this means to fans? Will all of the sports still be broadcast on radio and internet?

When I click on that link, it is unreadable.
