3 jobs listed, goodbye KPEL
..... I can't wait to hear the words your Ragin Cajun Network presented by learfield
Somebody help me, because I don't know: why is this big time?
Someone splain all this to me. I'm slow tonight, well, slower than usual I guess.
This may sound like it is coming out of left FIELD but I'm LEARy.
But not necessarily in that order.
For a peer comparison, Arkansas State signed with Learfield in 2016 to a 10 year $16 million contract.
For those wondering why this matters, it was a part of the Alden Report and it goes beyond just radio broadcast. It's a full multimedia/marketing partnership.
"Create a competitive marketplace for expanded UL programming and set the stage for bringing in a multimedia agency to maximize revenues and resource … Revamp and regain control of media distribution."
This was Alden's suggestion in his report
http://www.theadvertiser.com/story/s...ner/410816001/Such a partner would work with the school to sell advertising, corporate sponsorships, signage and digital content. Maggard was determining just what sports-related money-making assets UL has to sell sponsors and media partners.
That could be anything as small as ad space on team-schedule cards and posters to bigger-bucks possibilities such as advertising on internet, radio and television platforms.
What a bummer. KPEL was just about to get those mic problems resolved.
Does this mean the end of Jay "Dead Air" Walker??? 😂😂
I guess I just do not understand what is going on. Does anyone know what this means to fans? Will all of the sports still be broadcast on radio and internet?
When I click on that link, it is unreadable.
