This staff could also be 1 and done. I truly believe we blew 3 games due to poor player management and a lack of preparations /adjustments.

I'm hoping for 3 great years and then start a new search.
Our next coach after Coach Napier could easily be off his current staff, so the search wouldn't be too far or too long.

I see Napier added DJ Looney former Mississippi State TE coach on twitter. Also previously coached at Central Arkansas and East Mississippi Community College. I wonder if he could fill that last offensive slot. His previous experience is with tackles and TE so it would make sense.

Not sure where that would leave Butterfield who is retweeting a lot of coach Napier Cajun stuff.

It's been said several times here.

    Dez is coaching tight ends.

did you miss where I said he has also coached tackles? That would be an asst OL coach...which is what we have left to hire.

I'm starting to think Butterfield is not going to happen. It's a bit weird that he would go through the motions of re-tweeting Napiers tweets and then the last 2 days stop.

Not 100% up to speed on coaching searches, but I'd think only serious candidates come in to town for face to face interviews. I'm sure initial interviews are done on the phone. Like I said earlier, perhaps Napier decided to go in a different direction.

Thanks genius, but Napier still brought someone else in to interview for that job.

Agreed. Will be interesting to see who fills these last 2 roles.

Probably why Johnson didn't make it here.

Tennessee: Memphis wide receivers coach David Johnson is joining Jeremy Pruitt's staff, per a tweet from Dan Wolken.

Frequently, coaches have one position at team A, and a different one on team B. It's possible the interview was for another position.

Dez at TE was done before Butterfield came in. That makes me feel as though the interview might have been elsewhere.

Director of recruiting research and evaluation.

One of the things I kept harping on about the asst coach salary pool was how many more off the field guys we would be able to add. Having multiple guys handling the leg work for our coaches is going to be huge.

Looks like Nick McDonald will be another guy on the recruiting/player personnel side.
