Yes, he's a well respected position coach but he is also 69 years old. He's also a defensive guy. I don't see us going in that direction.

Although, I'm sure ECU would like to have him back, that program is a disaster since he left..

I know for a fact it's not Stoops.

McNeil, possibly a last minute add, but our list is stellar. He'd be looking up at the other candidates.

McNeil would flop as a hire.

However, I would not be surprised if our new HC has defensive bona fides.

I spoke to a very reliable source this weekend who has high level ties into the Athletic Administration at UL. Although he was not given any names and the beans were not spilled, he was told that the list of candidate's that have inquired about this job was unbelievable. The list included virtually every OC in the SEC, as well as a plethora of other coaches from around the country. He was told that the finalists that UL is speaking to, are much better than many of the names being discussed on this site! It's almost Christmas and I can't wait to see who is in the package under the tree!!!!!!!!!!

This tells me we have absolutely turned the corner perception-wise at least as it relates running a professional athletic department. Now we need to turn the corner across-the-board on competitive teams.

    Just curious.

If Sumlin would come but it would cost us $2 million a year, do we do it? Not arguing for or against.

If somebody has the money and is willing, so be it.
