Interesting, do we assume Maggard is concentrating on an offensive guru?

Except that he'd not be coaching A&M talent competing against SunBelt talent.

Way better than listening to Boomer drone on about Massey and Jesuit.
    Ha! Shot at boomer...

I think you give him a competitive base and then load that puppy with incentives.. I'd even include $500k for an Access Bowl birth. $150k for a conference championship. Bonus for top 50 recruiting class. Bonus for graduation and APR achievements. Bonus for leading the SBC and G5 in attendance. Bonus for BEATING LA TECH. BONUS FOR BEATING P5.

Just spit balling.. But you get the idea.

    I sure hope so.

Skill people are everywhere. Look at our roster. For G5 schools, it's all about points.

I like that Sumlin has solid ties with IMG academy. That place is stealing talent from all over the country and it's a major 4-5 star recruit depot. Not to mention the probable 3 star rest of their team who is up for grabs. Sumlin got mond, the quarterback from A&M last year out of IMG and shae Patterson went From Louisiana to there as well.

Sumlin would be a homerun hire, but aren't his defenses alway bad, even going back to his UH days? Our defense was atrocious this year and have almost zero team speed coming back. Just a concern if this happened.

The defense will be bad next year no matter who the coach is. The coach who can do the best job of bringing judo talent on D will be our best shot. Hopefully we can out score some people until the talent can get replenished

Way to think outside the box! We suck at tackling and coverage. Maybe Judo is the answer.

Does the longer this thing drags out mean the better the chances that this one could actually happen?

As long as Sumlin has not taken a job elsewhere, my hopes will remain high.
Saw Buckley's ridiculous "updated possible coaches list". Any list with Joe DeForest as a legit candidate is complete garbage. But he left out Sumlin, which gave me a chuckle.
