Y'all tell the truth... when you glanced at the title to this thread... did you think Nation had drafted up some crazy Ragin Pagin peace offering to Michael Lotief? Tell the truth!

I too remember it as a great trip...
    If '86 it was Stokley

59 yard field goal on 2nd down with 21 seconds left? LOL

Said Broussard, "Five more yards and it would have been good. I didn't put everything into it. If I had known how far it was, I maybe would have put a little more into it."

    WHAT???

Edited to add: WOW, we totally mismanaged this game. Went for two?

Now that's some heartbreak. I didn't follow the Cajuns back then really, with no radio station to even listen to it on but I'm hurting now just reading about it.

i dont mind going for two right there to win, back then would have been a tie and that doesnt really do anything for your program.

now the kicking on second down with 21 seconds left, thats a head scratcher

I realize y'all think I'm out of my mind here, but think about it.

IF it is true that LL is the best thing we've had since Brian, and IF we go into Oxford and right a past wrong, how can we not get on board this train?

Run a 20 yard pass pattern and chuck that football. A 59 yard FG with 21 seconds left? LOL

Got to be the closest we've ever come to a national ranking that late in the season.

Brian Mitchell introducing himself to the nation.

    Levi, your turn.....
Had a sure fire two point conversion play to win....TE lines up on the wrong side of formation...Glenn Floyd slips out the backfield and is wide open and their DE blows into the backfield untouched (remember the TE?)....Brian overthrows a wide open Floyd in the end zone with the DE smashing him in the mouth......I must have watched that damned play 20 times the next morning.....

Brian was "filling in" that game.

Did the staff have a full grasp of what they had in Brian Mitchell at that point in time?

I'm not an expert on this at all. I was 9 and don't even remember the game.
