AH...I remember those days very well! But in my case you would have to change psychology to Geography. And for that exact reason is why I thought this plan was so neat.

Thanks for that freaking memory with key punch cards. Wasn't a IT student, so my computer time for some business course I was taking was in the "all you others" midnight or later block but, if I remember correctly before 3 AM. Carter was president for a time point of reference.

But then again, we had the precursor to Dominos...Pit Stop Pizza. Dude always showed up with road map eyes....lol.

Or the always broken escalators. I wonder if they even still have those.

Escalators have been gone, replaced with stairs. They have the money to build but not maintain. True then true now.

Well, TBH, escalators are a pretty high-maintenance item in any environment. Having them in a very busy university setting was probably the worst place for them to be.

Hey I had that exact schedule. I can't beleive Girard is still standing. It was ancient in the 70's.

Don't know if you live in the area, but either way if you have not seen Girard in the last few years you really need to. It was completely gutted and renovated in 2014 (I think), and it not only looks great but is also in great shape.

While they were at it they also redid all the landscaping around it: gone are all the pine trees between it and the entry circle, and all the other overgrown trees/shrubs that shrouded it. And not only were a bunch of new sidewalks added, they also put a statue of Dr. Stephens just outside of it. (Which is now decorated for Mardi Gras.)

Here are a few pics of it, but I am also including a link to the campus thread where we chronicled the renovation.

Also, just FYI: Girard Hall, completed in 1923, is the 3rd oldest building on campus. Only Foster/DeClouet are older, and only by ~10 years.

Very nice, it would be cool if my granddaughter had class in the same rooms as me and her dad did.

You know, as I was typing my post above, I suddenly remembered that Girard had also been renovated right around when I started ('79-'80). Not nearly as nicely as now, but still a big job. Guess two major renovations in a lifetime is another factor making me an old fart, lol.

Is this project being built where the dog park used to be?
