Give away 1 on-campus parking pass per game to be used the following Sping semester. All students must register before 1st Quarter is over and announce winner in last 5 minutes of the game. Must be present to win. Problem solved.

I'm sure the University can afford to give away 5 spots.

......I never could figure our not doing this based on other sport's success.....could have a different frat or sorority handle each game......SF mentioned its being classified as gambling and with the added regulations, he didn't want to mess up the good thing we had going!!!

I don't see why it's not considered gambling at baseball but would be at football...it's a fundraising raffle ticket. Sounds like somebody was too lazy to do it.

A coworker of mine won just south of $11 grand at an Astros game last year playing 50/50. I play now every time I go.

The same can be said for the Lafayette community. It has always been just putting on the event and hope people show up. Then we give them a lackluster event. We've learned nothing from P5 schools that we have played on the road as to what has made them successful. Any wonder we can only get 18,000 fans for our first game. It is pitiful that students would leave the game at half time.
Florida students get the first several rows of the visitors side including the 50. I think the students could have been moved when/if the stadium got remodeled. There just want a reason to do it when it happened

people leave in droves after they announce 50/50 in the 8th...let the pot be 5,6,7k and announce after game...you will keep all those people.

They should even think about splitting the pot between 2 fans and letting it be 25% / 25% / 50%... that way you get more winners and the football program is the big winner.

I don't like the incentive-based marketing to get students to the games. I want a disincentive system. I volunteer to run the "Ragin Cajun Hunger Games". I'm having my lawyers review my program, so forgive me for not providing details.

The New Orleans Saints started selling 50/50 tickets about two years ago. The pot is usually $30,000 to $40,000 (or more) each game. They give 50% to a different charity each game and some lucky fan gets to take $15,000/$20,000 home that they didn't show up with! The pot wouldn't be that big, but I don't think anyone would complain about winning $5,000/$10,000 and walking out of Cajun Field with that money in their pocket!
So I strongly disagree that doing a 50/50 would scream "High School" level! The Lottery doesn't get to be worth 700 million dollars because people aren't willing to take a chance and do a little gambling!

I wonder what 1/2 price beer in the 4th Q would do for student stamina.
