    Default R.I.P. Chris Cornell

    Died yesterday at 52.

One of the greatest and most powerful rock singers to ever live.

He wrote this song after watching a phony televangelist. It is my favorite Soundgarden song, and I'll let Chris take it from here.....

Just never know what anyone is going through. Most of us will never understand the struggle.

Only Vedder is left from the big 4 voices of grunge. 2 heroin overdoses and an apparent suicide. Obviously money can't buy happiness

2 suicides and basically another by heroin/crack. Staley was under 90 lbs when he passed. He was basically committing suicide over a long period of time

While I appreciate the grunge sound of the 90's and the large number of good bands that came out of that era, the music is rooted in gloom. Not much happiness in that group.

Amazing how great all these bands were and how each lead singer sounded so different. Staley was always my favorite but of course Cornell always had the best pure soul voice.

Staley and Scott Weilands deaths were sad but not surprising at all...Cornell's was both.

"When police kicked in the door to Layne Staley's University District apartment on April 19, there, laying on a couch, lit by a flickering TV, next to several spray-paint cans on the floor, not far from a small stash of cocaine, near two crack pipes on the coffee table reposed the remains of the rock musician." It was reported that the 6 foot (1.8 metres) Staley weighed only 86 pounds (39 kg) when his body was discovered"

    Sad..

I would think this one was the one with the most radio play.
