This makes absolutely no sense. Where are you getting this? Please do not tell me that you are comparing the RPI values of the MLB teams in that link against the RPI values of NCAA D1 Baseball.

The RPI for pro ball is mostly useless ... because the universe is small and connected much better than in college ball. Professional sports do not have the problem that exists in college sports.

When i said pro rpi argument, i meant the argument in favor of rpi, not pro as in mlb teams.

Agreed there is a problem in college sports!

I think we will all agree we are in it until we are out of it. Rest up. Heal up. Play on and let's kick some Warhoax butt.

I want them to fully understand why they are so very deserving of that 239 RPI. That RPI is much, much closer to St. Peters than UL.

I wouldn't be concerned except the streak is at 19. The blind squirrel might bite us this weekend.

I understand. But it is unacceptable for a sunbelt team to have that kind of RPI. At one time with FIU FAU MT and WKU we were a conference with an RPI of 6 or 7. Why do we allow these clowns to stay in the conference

That stinks. We need to hope for a deep run into the tournament, fortuitous opponents, and a very low number of "stolen bids." Without a tournament championship, our odds of making a regional are precarious at best.

There's just something inherently wrong with a system that penalizes winning. We swept a conference road series and dropped 4 spots. And the whole St. Peter's thing has been discussed ad nauseum. We would have been monumentally better off NOT playing!

So we'd probably be nearly a lock at large team had we just taken 2 weekends off and went to the beach. Instead, we go 6-0 and ruin the season?? Someone who governs these rules needs to say that out loud a few times, and listen to themselves. Completely ridiculous.

I agree in general ... except the Cajuns sweeping ULM this weekend was basically a wash in terms of the RPI (less than a .0008 drop ... which is very small). Most of the very small drop in RPI was due to the Cajuns' opponents. And if you are just looking at the rankings, you are not seeing that the teams are very tightly packed. In a normal weekend, the Cajuns would have likely held their spot.

This series did not hurt the Cajuns ... it helped them as they added three wins to their conference record and moved up a spot to fourth. Everything will come out in the wash. They have the opportunity to move up a number of spots very quickly this week.

As I've said before, sometimes the RPI is your friend, and sometimes it is not. Last year it helped us. This year it hurt us.

If the Cajuns make the Sun Belt finals, the RPI will be fine and they will be in the field of 64.

Oh ... and without Saint Peter's on the schedule ... presently a #34 RPI ranking. :-)

You had to mention at Peacocks? It's been a tough couple of days as it was, Brain.

I believe this to be true. And I think this team is built for post-season. We shall see
