The stadium and atmosphere was absolutely top notch. We looked like a top 20 team tonight too. Played very well. What a win!

The coach was smiling as he walked away. He knew what he was doing.

He also probably got to eat before everyone else.

I was at the game but was keeping a close watch on my 6 month old..

Am I crazy, or was there much less of the sound effects than usual? (Homer Simpson, etc)

Was it Berry that got tossed? Or an assistant?

Also - one of their coaches was yapping with the umps all the way the right field foul line after the game. Looked pretty heated.

Strike zone was a bit inconsistent for both sides, but I thought they got the big calls right... specifically the play where they threw out Pinny at 3rd and the play Robbins gunned down their runner at home.

I'm guessing after USM got out of the bases loaded jam and their catcher spiked the ball, their players were yapping and probably were told something by one of the umps which their coach that got tossed took issue with.

Looking forward tomorrow... Let's take game 2 also!

---I think it was the assistant coach that got run off---it wasn't the big di-ude that was at the plate pre game!!!

I saw several USM players intensely questioning blue on strike outs. Thought that was a no no Number 32 complained two times in a row.

-also I( think he had to be overwhelmed with tonight---for the record, I looked up Missou's attendance and they average less than 1K per game---add the people with the atmosphere and it was so very cool! I was the dude collecting the hard (SOFT) hats after the game

    - Any ideas on what to do with these

-need a coach Robe auto-G on one for the office!!!

    Oh...

Looked like every fly ball to the outfield was an adventure. I think players on both teams had problems judging the ball off the bat. That could be a huge advantage for our guys after our outfielders get used to that with other teams having to adjust...

We have definitely had issues with Hargroder before.

Hoping they don't rotate 1st to home. Myron Miller was the Minute Maid blunder.

Who was the little guy who claimed Tony hit him twice in 2014?

He was already trying to rile his guys up with the top of the 8th coming up. I get like it was planned. Even after he got rung, he was clapping and yelling at his bench. On the other note of the umpire at home, he was very consistent on both sides, didn't like the inside call, only though he missed the tag by handsome. Thought the guy slide touched home either before he got tagged if he even got tagged. Had a good angle and looked like he missed the runner

I don't get where the post game attack on the umps pays a dividend. You still have the weekend series to complete, and you aren't stoking your team at that point. Did USM think these umps were homers for UL? They sure need to do some research if they think that. And if they were paying attention, they'd definitely see that the calls behind the plate were evenly wrong or right for both teams.

I'm going to disagree about the Handsome tag. I also had a great angle. Hell, everyone had a great angle, the stadium is great He was tagged. He might have made it home if he came straight in but he didn't and the extra time costed him.

Am I the only one who thought D-MO's last strike was outside?

Everything coming in and breaking off the plate on that side was getting called a strike by that ump. Technically... I think those were off the plate. But the ump was seeing anything a ball off the front outside corner as a strike all night.

The concourse was clean and functional. The bathrooms were spacious. The concessions were operational.

    There was beer.

Was that the Texas Tech "they thought it was 3 outs and all ran off the field and the runner that was on base from UL scored and somehow the umps called him back to the base and Tech got to come out, position their defense again and play with 2 outs and we didn't get our run that probably would have won the game?" You know, that old gem.

    I said something very similar.
