  1. UL Football Who will be the Ragin' Cajuns' quarterback in 2017?

Jordan Davis, Dion Ray are contenders for starting job, but they may face competition.

    I concur.

If EITHER of the backups were capable, we would have seen them on the field running series of plays, not spot run or gimmick plays. Not faulting the players, they were offered spots on the team. Fault lies with who evaluated and offered.

Not impressed with the JUCO QB prospect in the article after watching his highlights on HUDL.

    1. Long delivery
    2. His balls float or they have no "zip"
    3. If he doesn't work out we have wasted two years of J. Davis development and at least one on Ray and Arceneaux.

If Davis is not the answer, I would be willing to take fight it out with Arceneaux. Ray is a RB playing QB, works in high school, but not college. If anyone disagrees ask, Why did HUD not let him throw a pass all year?

The one pass ray threw in the bowl game was a perfect 40 yard pass on the run that was dropped by the receiver...the best pass we saw the whole bowl game

Most running backs can throw that pass that's why he ran the same route that is often ran on a half back pass.

If aecenaux were to be the guy. That's an even bigger reason to keep an expanded option package with Ray at QB.

An old coaching buddy was teasing about getting back from a coaching conference and his wife would make him get in the bath tub to see "if his balls floated"---sorry, but if this passes T-Bines code, some quotes take on different meanings!!

    Irony...

Dude was PASSING GAME Coordinator at Starkville, and it will be his inability to understand the need for a passing game and how to get one that will be his end here.

IMO when you have a running game coordinator and passing game coordinator then the HC is calling the plays. The other two guys are there to recruit.

Someone that is going to fail due to the HC not utilizing the options that he has instead of what he wants........

F....it Run him up the middle. Seems to work.....

  20. UL Football Hudspeth thinks QB Davis 'can lead our team'

The UL football team will open spring practice this week, and when it does Jordan Davis will have the inside track on claiming the Ragin' Cajuns No. 1 quarterback job.
