Because I don't think they possess the key to success. Greed tends to cure itself. They will be their own undoing. What they have wrought cannot be sustained.

He reminds me of me when I was younger, full of himself and out to prove everyone wrong who disagrees with him. Age and experience helped me realize how I missed out on so much because I only wanted to put people in their place instead of listening to an opposing view.
---I have posted this on here so many times---When you get to name calling it becomes an AD HOMINEM argument that would be tossed by anybody knowledgeable of debate or discussion---it is a fallacious point and would be immediately tossed---unfortunately it is with high frequency used on here---i sure wish that for say one week the neg crew would state there point no matter how bad but just avoid the attacks on the persons!!!

I love it when liberals find extreme situations to make a point

Well this thread sure took an unexpected turn.

Few more posts, and the participants will be debating Louisiana's film subsidy program.

T brought up the depression. That's a whole other topic.
Well remember Zoom Zoom, many grew up during the depression with very little then joined the military to serve the country during WII. My father was a forward gunner on a Liberty Vessel, but never spoke about it until the last years of his life. I had four great uncles that served during WII, two brothers in Europe and two from the other side of the family in the Pacific. The two in Europe were awarded metals, one for D-Day, the other in Italy being wounded. None of them every talked to me about those events, I discovered their service looking through my grandmother's photo albums years later.

Also, if you remained state side during the war most jobs were in defense manufacturing or agriculture in Louisiana. They were asked to ration everything from beef to rubber from tires and fuel. Life wasn't easy for families here during the war unless they were wealthy.

My mothers family lost their little family dairy in Youngsville during the war because people couldn't afford to pay for milk at times and sometimes getting paid in goods and services just didn't pay their bills. So they turned to share cropping side by side with African-Americans in lower Lafayette Parish and later in St. Martin Parish. Imagine just how shocked they would be to learn just how racist they were to work side by side in the fields with their hands with local minorities.

    1. Women between 30 and 39 make more for the same employment as men.
    2. Women choose to work in many jobs that are lower paying.
    3. As part of 2, women do not apply for jobs where there is high risk for injury or death, where pay for injury or death risk is higher.
    4. Men are more likely to work overtime in order to advance faster, so they do.
    5. Women surveyed way higher than men that they value family life and being home far greater than succeeding in their careers.

These are facts from recent university studies in the U.S. and the U.K.. The wage gap is a myth. The 79 cent bogus argument doesn't take numerous factors, in addition to those above, into account.
