43 members on the board right now.
20 have Ragin and/or Cajun in their screen names.
Only 1 has UL or Louisiana.

What are we arguing about?
Roll Tide"
"Hook 'em Horns"
"Boomer Sooner"
"Geaux Cajuns"
Bigger institutions than ours have marketed and built tradition around their logos/nicknames.
I'm guessing you'll soon be changing your screen name to "LouisianaT"
We'll start a petition to change the RCAF to....I don't know what, because the new acronym has the great potential to be pretty humiliating.
Turbine, I expect the page will soon be changed to "Louisiana Pagin'"

Noone confuses Texas with Texas A&M, Alabama with Auburn, or Oklahoma with Oklahoma State...no one is saying do not market Ragin Cajuns at all (it would be dumb not to being it's one of the most unique nicknames in sports), I think what most of us are saying is to not get rid of LOUISIANA for logos. We need to have that name out there as much as we can. No reason we can't market both.
We used to look forward to celebrating 'the one and only' win every year.
Yeah, you're right. I allowed my train of thought to change.
My original thought wasn't to the branding, but how members on this board reference themselves.
My point was that most people (I'd say at least half) on the board identify with "Ragin'" and/or "Cajun" and I took the direction of the thread as a condemnation of those terms.
I'd venture to say our jerseys will continue to say "Louisiana". I'd venture to say there will still be a healthy selection of "Louisiana" shirts/jackets/mugs at Red Zone and Bell's. I'd venture to say the band will still transition into either of the "UL" formations during its half-time show.
Probably not CajunMoney, it just sounds all too negative to me. I'm just going to stick with my annual gift of a box of chocolates and a bouquets of red roses to Dr. Savoie and Scott Farmer. Life is just grand in the Sun Belt Conference. I'm going to sit back and enjoy the ride, maybe hand put a few more red dots.
Why fight the fight if you don't have the stomach for it. Its easier to give it up. Certainly not surprised, though.
