Raynard Ford was at the scrimmage Saturday, he is a very lean 6'4,280 athlete. Will need to get stronger over the summer, but very athletic for an OL.

Do you think Ford is for depth or a project? Are they worried they don't currently have what they need? Could Quave possibly stay at guard and have Ford and Winthrow compete for LT?

Don't think Ford is an OT, he has just played one year on the OL after playing TE. But he is very athletic and can move, should help them inside. More project at this time, Rodrigue likes athletic guys.

Coach Rod is looking at his options this spring, Winthrow at tackle and Quave at guard. Makes since to add depth and in case of injury. He also never plays true freshmen or RS freshmen, so this is Horst and Winthrow's opportunity to show they are ready to contribute in year 3. He stated that he will put his best 5 OL on the field. I don't see Freeman or Goodacre starting this season at guard. Both are good, but still raw and that is not Coach Rodrigue's system unless forced due to injuries. They will sign another JC OL before summer.

Back in the mid 70s we had a couple New Yorkers. There was an offensive lineman named Luccio who didn't last long. Allen Taylor was a running back from NY who didn't last long either.

Are they still looking for a juco DL?

I can see this kid playing guard. In two years he's a lean 300lbs and can run! Imagine this kid as a pulling guard. WOW!
