    Default Behind the Hilton Garden

I passed down Cajun Dome Blvd and noticed a temporary construction office trailer, some stakes in the ground, and heavy equipment. It was my understanding that project was 3-5 years away. Are they starting that new development already? Anyone know whats going on?

After their "Rajin Cajuns" promo, I thought it was determined in another thread that their new designated name was Strap-Ons?? Forgot who came up with that but that is pretty funny

Gov. Bobby Jindal returned to the Louisiana Economic Development Authority on Monday to announce that another information technology company is moving to Lafayette.

California-based company Enquero Inc. will create a new technology center and will collaborate with the University of Louisiana ... at Lafayette to strengthen its computer science curriculum and provide student internships and apprenticeships, said the company's executive director, Hemant Asher.

Jindal said Enquero's move from the Silicon Valley to Lafayette will produce 350 direct jobs with a salary of $64,300 per year plus benefits. Those direct jobs are expected to be filled by 2017. The company said it will also provide 354 indirect jobs.

It company will sublease 2,200 square feet of office space at the LITE Center and move in August.

Enquero provides clients with "software-driven solutions" across a wide range of industries, the company said.

Jindal held a previous conference at LEDA in April announcing that IT company CGI Federal, the U.S. affiliate of Canada-based CGI, will establish a new technology center in UL's University Research Park, creating 400 direct jobs.

The tech companies will provide different services, technology consultant Doug Menefee said.

"One really big difference between CGI and Enquero is that the Enquero team will focus much more around business solutions that are everything from mid-sized business to enterprise businesses, whereas CGI's focus is much more around carrying very large enterprise space and government contracts," Menefee said Thursday.

CGI carries a global staff of 68,000 employees and was the primary contractor for the healthcare.gov website last fall, which was plagued with several technical blunders.

Enquero is a startup company that is contracted to conduct web analytics for companies and media campaigns, Menefee.

Asher said the company looked at other locations around including Baton Rouge and New Orleans before deciding to move to Lafayette.

"Lafayette and the state of Louisiana far exceeded our expectations from all dimensions," Asher said during the Monday press conference. "We found Lafayette to be an extremely entrepreneurial community with strong alignment between its community stakeholders, such as the University of Louisiana ... at Lafayette, South Louisiana Community College, Lafayette Economic Development Authority and others.

"The community leaders clearly understood Enquero's vision and its needs as a growth company. We are extremely honored to be joining this community, and we look forward to playing a role in its future growth."

The tax incentive package to bring in Enquero includes services from national workforce development program LED FastStart and the company will be eligible for Louisiana's Digital Interactive Media and Software Development Incentive. Enquero will likely use incentives through the state's Quality Jobs program, Jindal said.

Jindal boasted that the state's technology sector has grown 25 percent since 2008. Other tech companies that have or are moving to Louisiana include CSC, Electronic Arts, Gameloft, GE Capital and IBM.
