Glad I'm not the only one who felt that way…. Why the G5 should split from the P5… oh wait, I forgot to add the reasons…

Yea, Cody. Let's trade the scraps of food we get at the table for crumbs. Also, Terry Bradshaw as a G5 playoff committee member? This guy graduated from UL? Lol.

Am I the only one that thinks the G5 conferences splitting away from the P5 would be the death of a whole bunch of college football teams. It would end up being similar to how the FBS and FCS is now. P5 schools wouldn't schedule more than one game against G5 schools like they wont schedule more than one FCS school now. All of the "money games" that G5 schools play in to try to keep up with the big boys financially would fly right out the window. Not to mention only fans of G5 schools or hard core college football fans would watch a playoff for the G5 schools, also similar to how only fans of FCS teams and hard core college football fans watch their playoff. A G5 playoff would only generate slightly more money for the schools and conferences involved than the current bowl system does now which wouldn't even come close to the money lost to a lack of money games. The reality of the situation is that there will always be divide in college football. It just depends on which side of the split you fall on whether you love it or hate it.

I agree with these points… The rich would get richer, the poor would get poorer and the middle class would stay middle class. Here's the real problem. The bottom tier P5 teams (middle class) would then become whipping boys and would hate it. If the G5 schools would stick to their guns and not schedule the P5 schools, you would have the Wake Forrests of the world going 0-12 every year… That still would leave the G5 schools with nothing basically becoming the FCS like you mentioned. The Alabamas of the world would continue to get stronger until eventually it would separate again from the bottom tier P5s. You can't stop power and greed from running through the veins of these behemoths, and they won't stop til they become the corporate giants of college football (as if they weren't already, but will only continue to grow)
