Default ASU RB runs for Touchdown AFTER being tackled

Last night, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns beat the Arkansas State Red Wolves in a 55-40 shoot-out. The play of the game came in the second quarter when Michael Gordon ran up the middle, appeared to be tackled and then got up and ran for a 70 yard TD.

If officials are going to be that technical and can't realize that he was brought down by our defenders and his forward momentum was stopped then from now on our defense neesd to grind them into the turf on every tackle.

Idea: 4th and 8 just make your players lay on the ground in a stacked sandwich formation and let the ball carrier crawl his way to the goal line.

If it helps the players can do a log roll and get him there on a conveyer belt.

All he has to do is hold onto the ball and not touch the ground.

How is this play any different from jumping into or over a pile in a short yardage situation. Many times, the back never hits the ground but is called down by lack of forward progress. This situation was no different as it was clear that he was tackled. Its either a pretty stupid rule or the refs need to reprimanded for not blowing the whistle sooner. The funny thing is what had happened if we had noticed this and either tried to drag him off of the lineman or we keep piling up to make sure he can't go anywhere, we likely get an unsportsmanlike penalty or get into a near brawl because they take exception to it.

Like BOP said in his blog last night, these refs had NO control in that game.
