Damn ER room has no TV. I counting on y'all for the play by play.
For those who don't watch much NBA, don't expect Peyton to come in this year and be great. Rookies aren't usually expected to come in and contribute right away. There can be a steep learning curve. The good news is that the Magic will be terrible this year and he should get lots of playing time.
Peyton will need to bulk up, be more aggressive, and work on a good jump shot. The experience will come.
He looks poised out there not too nervous. You can tell he is playing his first game as a pro though. Three of his shots have been blocked in the paint.
He will be a real special player come next year!!! Athleticism is definitely there, he just needs to settle down and adjust to the nab game. He may become a star in this league
First half stats: 18 minutes, 1/6 from the field, 2 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists.
Also he is showing pretty good court vision and making good passes so far.
Had several great drives to the rim. And he's hustling on D
Announcer on radio said he is definitely "a Pest" on defense. He said that Payton's offense has not caught up to his D but he will be able to play Defense in the NBA immediately.
Thanks Zee, she tough and stubborn so she'll get through.
NEW ORLEANS – He was making his NBA debut, just across the Mississippi River from his hometown of Gretna, wearing the uniform of the visiting Orlando Magic.
Not from former University of Louisiana point guard Elfrid Payton. Not in the least.
I thought EP did awesome tonight, considering he's playing a couple of the best defenders in the NBA.
He needs to make better decisions when he drives. go up hard or kick it out.
With that said, his teammates don't do a lot to get open, either. They really sucked without him. It showed when he went to the bench late in the 3rd quarter. Game was 5 points. Anderson bang, bang, bang from 3 and the game is over.
No perimeter D when Elfrid sits. When Olidepo comes back, Elfrid's going to have double doubles almost every night.
He has a chance to have an amazing career. He played 30 minutes tonight. Would've played more if not for foul trouble and the fact that the game was out of hand.
Orlando better find a way to play when he's on the bench, because that's a whole different team when he's not out there.
This is Elfrid's team to run. He's earned it.
I went to the game and thought Elfrid Payton played very well. Anthony Davis is a stud. With that being said, this is supposed to be the best basketball in the world?! I know these guys are the best at what they do, but I've seen better team basketball at a biddy bball game in Edgar Martin's gym. My buddy and I were talking about how we could collect 7 figures to miss shots and stand around when we didn't have the ball.
Yeah Tobias Harris with the magic is a very selfish player 8 times out of 10 when he gets the ball he doesn't pass it!
