Whoops wrong trade rumor. Ibaka/Oladipo trade was legit, it was "Bulls get Dunn, Zach Levine and a 2nd round pick for jimmy butler" deal that wound up being a viral rumor. Mixed them up...

I'm watching all the free agents sign these crazy contracts and I'm excited for Elfrid. I'm mean, Delavadova gets close to 40 million for 4 years and he's basically a third string pg. Orlando made some good moves this off-season so if Elfrid plays well he can cash in next year.

He's going to have to improve his scoring, shooting percentage, and free throw percentage. His numbers on offense are just enemic for a starting point guard.

All of his offensive stats improved from year 1 to 2. Still not good but there is an upward trend. As far as the roster moves, I think they will help the team and EP. Adding some veteran presence will certainly help.

Payton's stat line of 10.7 points, 3.6 Rebs, and 6.4 assists per game is pretty solid. If the magic adds an actual shooting guard who can shoot, I think Payton's scoring will go up by a good bit. When victor and Payton were in the floor together, the defense didn't have to respect the outside shot and sagged to clog the lane. Basically killing Payton's strength of driving to the basket.

Agreed and the Magic didnt bring him in for his offensive numbers, anyway. His contribution will be on defense, distributing the ball and pressing the lane to kick to the open 3 shot.

I was wondering how he was doing, but hadn't gotten around to checking.

    Thanks

Elfrid had 26 and 14 in a game about 10 days ago. He is now coming off bench but still plays starter minutes. Magic have also been winning more frequently in recent days and are sniffing 0.500. Note they play at New Orleans on Wednesday January 18.

Career high 28, 9,9 on Saturday night vs J___ and 20 and 12 yesterday vs Nuggets. His jump shooting form looks much improved and his free throw and field goal percentages so far have seen increases. Hope he continues.

No argument there. However, he recently had a game with 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists. Elfrid just needs to put up those nos. more frequently. Note, he will be in New Orleans tomorrow night when the Magic take on the Pelicans.

Number that stands out there is 12 assists. Going along with 17 points which represents a more than solid effort.

Elfrid per game averages over last 3 games - 34 mins, 22.3 pts, 5.7 reb, 9.3 assists, 3 turnovers, 51.9 FG Pct

He's getting it done right now

Contributing 24 or more points through assists and 17 of his own is a bit better than a "decent" game. He needs to get these numbers, or something close more consistently but EP is certainly moving in that direction.
