Can you guys even imagine having one of, if not the best season in UL history, and then choking away a lead and bowing out in the first round at home? Makes me sick just imagining it. I hope and pray they can get this ____ figured out, like now.

I know we won, but my goodness. We were all talking about a potential legit trip to Omaha and I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable lately

If they lose, it will be tomorrow. But with the way Boutte has been pitching and we've swung it well against their staff so far, we can slug out a win tomorrow.

ULM is terrible and that should be an easy sweep

ULM was terrible when we played them in Monroe. They are not terrible now ... but a team fighting to make the Sun Belt Tournament. Besides, the Cajuns are making every game tough. I do not expect three easy games. ULM did take 2/3 from Texas State in April. They also gave Alabama fits in Tuscaloosa when Alabama was playing well ... losing 3-2.

Agreed that I like our chances with Boutte tomorrow. Bring the bats.

UNO was terrible too. Need to play ULM with post-season intensity every pitch.

... and ULM is a better team than UNO. ULM evens the series with Georgia State tonight to move to 10-16 in Sun Belt play.

    South Alabama is 10-15
    ULM is 10-16
    Georgia State is 10-16
    Troy is 9-16
    UALR is 8-18

Something to play for creates a dangerous opponent.

They are playing .500 since they fired their coach in March, winning a bunch of 1 run games.

Not saying it isn't fun. Hell, I'm enjoying the ride just as much as the next guy, but in the same token, I'll call a spade a spade. The bullpen has been struggling lately, and it genuinely worries me, especially once we get to regionals (and beyond) and play teams that are tougher than SBC teams. Like I said in a previous post, unless our bullpen finds a way to tighten up (and in a hurry), it will come back to haunt us later on down the road. There is NO excuse to blow a 7 run lead to a mediocre (at best) South Alabama ball club. Rant over. Geaux Cajuns.

I think Milhorn got his last chance and failed tonight. Wilson had a good game 1 and struggled in game 2. He's been our best reliever and got asked to throw twice in one day. That's very difficult. Bazar did a good job stopping the bleeding and shutting the door. No excuse tomorrow. Boutte gives us 6 and hicks, plitt and others need to bring home the sweep.

I'm probably less worried than most, primarily because our starters will be going deeper into games if they keep pitching well.

Aut would have gone 8-9 and Baranik 8-9 had this weekend been an NCAA regional.

Good point. There is a reason Robe is keeping close track of pitch counts for our starters.

....hopefully. Not saying you are wrong and it also crossed my mind. We do need someone to finish games, though. I guess his name is Harry.
