I'll go 1st. All home teams win except UTA @ USA

    Which would make the standing:
    GSU 17-1
    WKU 12-6
    ASU 11-7
    UALR 10-8
    UL 10-8
    UTA 9-9
    Troy 7-11
    ULM 6-12
    Tx St 4-14
    USA 4-14

A split is a more likely scenario, as Arkansas State has matchup problems with us. In my estimation, if this Cajun team is truly the best option to beating Georgia State in the tournament, at this time of the season, when they are supposed to be playing their best ball, they need to do what GSU did, and that's win where they won.

I really want that #2 seed, but even if we end up at #3, we are still on the correct side of the bracket for the best shot into the finals.

--I know it has been too long to remember from my basketball playing days but just wonder if playing a game before meeting the #! and #2 seeds might not even help a team with a game under their belt--I would imagine that 3 days in a row could be tough---Any thoughts on the physical implications??? Also MATCH UPS---Again I beat A and A beat B and B beat me!!!

As the #3 seed, our most likely opponent will be the winner of an Arlington-Troy matchup, both of whom we beat twice. The warmup game normally only helps you for the next game, not the one after. I'd just as soon have the same rest as Georgia State.

Man, what a fall from grace for USA. 9-20 and we lost to that hot garbage. As Boomer pointed out in another thread, losing to JSU, ULM, & USA absolutely destroyed what could've relatively been a good RPI. Might be around 80-90 and looking at NIT instead of 130 and looking at CBI or w/e the hell it's called

So i think I have this correct now for Saturday:

If Louisiana wins, the Cajuns are the #3 seed.
If Ark St wins, the Red Wolves are the #3 seed.
If Louisiana loses and UALR wins, Louisiana is the #5 seed.
If Louisiana loses and UALR loses, who knows.....

Does it matter at all what UTA does on Saturday???

I guess if UL, UALR, and UTA all lose on Sat, then we are the #4 seed?

Yes. If there is a 3 way tie between UL, UALR & UTA, the Cajuns win the tiebreak, having swept UTA & split w/UALR (3-1 record). UALR split w/UTA. If a 2 way tie w/UALR, we lose the tiebreak, as we were swept by WKU & they split w/them. Cajuns will be the #3 (win), #4 (lose, & UALR lose or UALR & UTA win) or #5 seed (lose, UALR win, UTA lose). Here's the tiebreak explanation:

Seeding: The seeds for the 2014 Men's and Women's Basketball Championships shall be determined based on each team's overall regular-season conference finish. The regular season champion shall earn the top seed in the tournament. The remaining seeds are then determined based on their conference winning percentage. Once all seeds are determined, the top 8 seeds will advance to the tournament and be placed accordingly into the bracket. In the event of a tie for a particular seed, the seed will be determined as follows:

    TWO TEAMS

    A. Highest win-loss percentage of head-to-head competition during the regular season.
    B. Each teams' win-loss percentage vs. the team occupying the highest position in the final regular-season standings, and then continuing down through the standings until one teams gains an advantage.
    C. When arriving at another group of tied teams while comparing records, use each team's record against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to that group's own tie-breaking procedure), rather than the performance against individual tied teams.
    D. If the records are the same against all teams, then the seeded position would be determined by a toss of the coin by the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner.

    THREE OR MORE TEAMS

    A. Highest win-loss percentage of the tied teams against each other is first considered.
    D. If there is still a tie, the seeded position of the teams will be determined by a draw conducted by the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner.
    E. For all ties involving three or more teams, once the tie is broken and the highest-seeded team is determined, the remaining tied teams will revert back to the beginning of the applicable tiebreaker.
