UL Basketball Louisiana Hoopsters Remain Confident

On the ride from Waco, Texas, to Lafayette late Sunday night, UL basketball coach Bob Marlin was offered cause for hope that before season's end more outside shots will fall for the Ragin' Cajuns than in weekend losses at Arkansas and Baylor.

Senior shooting guard Bryant Mbamalu, though, didn't even play against the Razorbacks or Bears.

"Driving back on the bus," Marlin said, "I was reminded we've got a pretty good shooter over there our most-experienced 3-point shooter; made the most for us the last year and last couple years on the bench in street clothes.

Hoopsters? Is it too much to call them a basketball team? This sounds like it belongs in front of a war time cartoon at the theater. "Louisiana Hoopsters Remain Confident" "The March on Berlin" "The Hula Hoop Craze is sweeping the nation" "Buy War Bonds" Christ...it's time the Advocate lowers the boom on the Advertiser and puts that sputtering mess out of its misery.
