UL Basketball 7 Year Old Cancer Patient Scores TD For Nebraska

Jack Hoffman is a 7-year-old brain cancer patient, but that didn't stop him from scoring a touchdown in Nebraska's spring game Saturday afternoon. Jack, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2011 and is currently on a break from his chemotherapy treatment, came into the game for a fourth-and-1 on the 31 yard line. With the help of some blockers, Jack ran the ball all the way into the end zone in front of more than 60,000 fans.

Jack met Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead last year and the two became friends. Rex was named captain of "Team Jack," a support group made up of Jack's friends and family, and when Jack scored his touchdown, he was wearing a miniature Rex jersey. Burkhead, who completed his senior season last fall, was elated after the game.

This is what sports is all about. Larry the Cable Guy was proud as hell last night to talk about this on Twitter, as he should be.

This is so great. As a father to a son, I teared up a little watching this. Congrats to that young man. Prayers for him for his battle.
