Thread: Name the Dome

    Default Name the Dome

Mercedes-Benz is reportedly spending about $27,000 per day to have its name tied to the New Orleans Superdome, but Acadiana residents can have their own name on the Cajundome for a lot less.

Who gets the money for the Superdome?

The owner or the main tenant?

This is so COOL Re: Name the Dome

Benson does. It is part of the long term deal he made with the state to keep the Saints in the state, and New Orleans in particular.

The Cajun Dome has no such issue, and the owner of the dome will get the money to do whatever they want. I never understood the dynamics of the parish/university ownership, so who gets the money indeed.

Deal to name the CajunDome covers only the Mardi Gras Holiday period and there will be charitable donations as a result.

Always thought the Tabasco Cajun Dome would be the perfect fit for a name.

As the owner and main tenant, UL should pick the charitable organization.

Why not permanent naming rights and revenue?

The RCAF cajun dome. With the rcaf being the charity would be nice.
