A philosophical change led to success Thursday for UL's men's basketball team, but now the Ragin' Cajuns will have to see if that change works against teams that aren't struggling quite as much.

The Cajuns snapped a seven-game loss streak and took their first Sun Belt Conference win of the season Thursday, 66-64 over Denver, and did it by pinning offensive hopes on David Dees and Ross Mouton and ratcheting up its defensive pressure.

Tonight, UL will put those theories to the test against a better team, with Florida International (6-8, 1-3 Sun Belt) coming to the Cajundome for a 7:05 p.m. contest.

Denver had only won once all season heading into Thursday's game. FIU has had more success, even tough the Golden Panthers have lost three straight Sun Belt outings including a 69-52 decision at South Alabama Thursday.

To UL coach Robert Lee, it doesn't matter who his team plays.
