Default Timing: BB Season Ticket Renewal

First, yes I am renewing my BB tickets. Second, I am tired of renewing my BB tickets more because I don't want to lose my seats than excitement for the play of the team. Third, how much longer do we have to wait for stability in the program?

Timing of these departures are absolutely horrible when it comes to new season ticket holders and those holders on the fence. I can't imagine anyone being so excited about this upcoming season that they are going to race to the ticket office.

I don't know what the problem is and I will not point fingers but enough is enough!

    I think that's understandable.

Look Marlin's career as a HC is on the line. He burned 2 years trusting the wrong people - His Fault. He now has 3 years to do what he originally had 5 years to do. If he fails again - he's toast and we start over again. In the meantime. we have to go with what we have. This is about 70% Marlin and 30% UL in that we should have never promoted Lee to HC. That cost us big time and destroyed our program. Its sort of what have you done for me lately now. I too wish it was different but we have to continue to support the team. Hudspeth has really put pressure on the other programs. Now we know what can be and the other HCs' have no more excuses including Robichaux and especially Marlin as he should have the most successful program at UL.

' I don't know what the problem is but Enough is enough?' There ya go, just like dad screaming at his kids enough is enough. That should solve the problem.

Nobody on this board knows for sure what the problems are. We all are making huge statements with more than half the jig saw pieces being missing. Not one person, that can verify who they are and what they saw and heard, is in a position to offer anything other than being satisfied or not satisfied with the direction of the program.

Like many I am not happy or satisfied, but know I will have this coach at least for the next two seasons, and making a bunch of unfounded allegations in no way helps the program.

I will be looking to upgrade my seats on those on the fense who decide not to wait.

Your statement makes my point. How can UL sell season tickets when even the biggest supporters of UL BB can't figure out what the hell is going on? Here we go again with less than a thousand people in the stands to start the season, with maybe less than that if they don't win early. With the departures, winning early would seem very unlikely. I do hope for the best but I must admit my expectations are very low. I am tired telling the guy across the court "god bless you" every time he sneezes and he hears me! After all of these years, we deserve better than this.

I think somewhere in your post lies the truth. I don't know where because the athletic department does not communicate with the public or promote RCAF membership nearly enough.

I like your statement about Hudspeth raising the bar of achievement standards for the other programs. Hopefully he's putting even more pressure on the athletic department for the kind of fundraising and public relations we really need to upgrade ourselves for bigger and better things.

As for Marlin, what I really believe is that he's doing what he has to do to effect a culture change that is needed for winning. He probably feels more heat than any coach we have right now, and if he is replaced or leaves before it is turned around the next coach will benefit from what he's doing now. Basketball has been down a long time and traditionally it has been our signature program.

No problem. Take them, Section 310, Row BB, Seats 9 and 10.

Just as an FYI, I've been a season ticket holder for about 20 of the last 32 years. Had them in Blackham back in the day.

No sweat Boom. I'll just re-direct that $$$ to our Engineering program. They will appreciate it.

Heck, with those free nights I may get back into coaching.

Beau, with this decision are you saying you are certain the 8 new players coming in don't have the ability needed to make the Cajuns a winner? Personally, I don't have any idea and will give them the opportunity to demonstrate their talents.

I think they have better potential than the ones they are replacing. As far as team chemistry goes, they are already better. Only the loss of Coleby bothered me; he was going to be one of two seniors on the team. Coach Marlin even tried to impress upon him the need for him to provide some leadership for the team.

Some people are leaders and some are followers. He packed his bags and left.

Mike, I just never had that good feeling about Marlin's coaching abilities. I definitely have no confidence in his or his assistants ability to recruit. The talent just isn't there.

I have time to mull over this decision. Definitely nothing earth shattering. Might just give him another season.
